Japanese Cherry Blossom

Here, I'd love introduce this darling Japanese Cherry Blossom ribbon flowers... Hopefully they'll become your favorite appliques in many ways.

All you need is five fabric ribbon squares. Which ribbon width to use? Depending on the size you can handle well, the square you cut will determine your flower size. My favorite size is on 1-1/2 to 2 inches squares.

1. Cut FIVE square pieces from your favorite ribbon and let get started.

2. First fold and convert your square to a triangle.

3. Bring both bottom corners of the triangle up to the top as in picture and pin them up.
4.Flip around and your ribbon should look like a square as in this picture.
5. Overlap the right and left arms of the square and stitch them up.
6. Flip around and see for yourself, you're done with the first petal! Repeat step 2 to 5 for the rest of the petals.

Are your petals ready for the most exciting part?

String them up, carefully string them together at the lower part of the petals, besides ensuring the top of the petals are all aligned well.

Lay them straight, trim the bottom petals (if neccessary) so that they are all in equal length and neat.

Ready? Set and pull, do you like your cherry blossom?

Stitch a puffy ball, button or something you like to the flower center and you're good.
