Fabric Rose? Yes! You can make one too.

Making fabric rose? Oh-yeah, come-on here to join the fun!

Materials

It's a little embarrassing, but seriously there's nothing much to elaborate here. We need no more than 2 feet of 2.25 inches width DOUBLE FACE fabric ribbon, very little felt (if you have some), needle and thread, hot glue, plus hair accessories... I guess you're good to take off.

Tutorial

1. Cut Eight (8) pieces of flower petals, size 50mm / 2 inches diameter and one piece of 30mm / 1.2 inches diameter felt backing. I have the template here and you may use if you wish.

2. First, half fold.

3. Next, quarter fold. BUT, DON'T MAKE a neat full quarter fold. SEE that the TOP quarter is SMALLER than the bottom quarter?

4. Stitch the bottom corner of the petal. Got it? Then, repeat from step 2 for the rest of the seven petals.

5. Have your backing piece ready. Just use the same fabric as petals if you do not have felt. That is perfectly fine. Now, let's put them together. Stitch or hot glue, I'll leave it to you. Here goes the first piece, but don't anyhow glue it. Did you notice the Top Smaller Quarter is at the top?

6. Continue with the other three petals, with the lips (openings) lining up in the same clockwise direction. I'll refer this layer as bottom petals later.

7. In similar manner, glue the top four petals - with the corner (not the lip) of the quarter fold sit on top of the bottom petals' protruded quarters at the bottom.

In case your rose did not bloom as in this picture... It does happen and when that occurs, do not your hesitate to add in extra layer of petals. Generally, eight is good in many cases.

8. Attached this fabric rose on your favorite hair accessories and you are good!
